Nano 2014: Day 28

Soooo...Black Friday. Yeah, I don't do the trampling people to buy discount electronics thing. I just sleep in when I can because all of the turkey and the sweet potato pie and the lack of sleep tend to get to me.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I hope you all have a lot to be thankful for this year.

I spent my day getting a very little bit of writing done between doing some research and spending more time with family. This is a crazy time for finishing out NaNoWriMo: I'm constantly surrounded by family and I have to vanish into my bedroom to get any work done. I'm sure that my relatives think I'm strange for doing it. I know that my mother is wondering when I'll either get published or give up.

Well, I want to hear how everyone's Thanksgiving was. For fellow Wrimos, tell me what your gameplan is for surviving the holidays.

I'll be posting another excerpt tomorrow. You can read weeks one, two, or three by clicking the links here. I've yet to decide what I want to share. I'm leaning toward the runner up from last week. I loved it and it's one of my favorites, but it's so long that I might put in an alternative scene or a combination of some shorter scenes. We'll see what I do in the morning.

Tomorrow may not be such a good day for noveling. A family friend is in the hospital and I'm not sure yet what time I'll be able to see her, but there's a good chance that that'll eat up a bit of my time.

I will definitely be trying to add a good amount of words to my book tomorrow, though. With only two days left, it's obvious that I won't be hitting 150k. However, I'd be overwhelmingly happy if I can break 100 over the weekend. That will require a lot of writing no matter how much more I'm able to do tonight, but I'm going to try hard to reach that goal.

Either way, I've already come much further than I have before. My longest month-long novel was about 55, 000. My current wordcount is 87, 369. I can't say that I'm not already proud and pleased, but I still have time to push further before I reach that quickly approaching finish line. Good luck to all of my fellow Wrimos! (And wish me luck, too. I'll need it. Or a miracle. Better yet, wish me a miracle.)

Good night, Nanoland. Good night, Blogosphere. Good night, Internet.
